Patrick leads the development of technical design at BAA. His ‘design for construction’ ethos ensures that a consistent design philosophy is carried through from concept to detail. With over twenty years’ experience delivering buildings in highly constrained urban sites, his approach is defined by clarity, quality and buildability.
Patrick brings particular expertise in complex refurbishment, cut-and-carve, and the creative reuse of existing buildings, and has worked across the commercial, residential, retail and infrastructure sectors.
He confidently navigates the technical, regulatory, and commercial complexities that accompany London’s evolving and historic urban fabric, and is skilled at balancing issues of heritage and sustainability, ensuring that both are drivers for the reinvention of existing buildings.
Patrick is a resourceful and pragmatic team player, with a highly collaborative approach that helps align client ambitions, statutory requirements and construction methodology to achieve design and delivery excellence.
He can quickly assess the challenges and opportunities in complex, multi-stakeholder projects, working to balance the competing needs of design, programme, procurement and construction.
