A refurbished Covent Garden office for Derwent London.

The fit out of Tower House combines the industrial office aesthetic, typical of Clerkenwell, with the more reserved and refined spaces of Marylebone and Fitzrovia to create its own distinctive environment.

A fit out of the fifth, seventh and eighth floors of this existing building culminated in the creation of a new signature roof space at the top of the eponymous tower with a stunning, double height space and roof terrace.

A newly refurbished reception space on Southampton Street features the luxe materials and finishes typical of Derwent’s elegant yet characterful office buildings, with timber panelled walls and a white stone floor. Lift cladding features fluted fumed oak veneer slats on white-washed sycamore backboard. A distinctive Western red cedar is used for a pergola and bench on the roof terrace.

The eccentric structural layout of the existing building, which had been adapted over a series of previous refurbishments, creates a complex web of down stand beams through which the new services are threaded. We worked within this occupied building to minimise disruption to tenants.
