Michael joined Ben Adams Architects in 2011.
He is commercially astute, able to advise clients on the best ways to unlock the potential of both sites and buildings to maximize value.
He is passionate about the way in which design can respond to the requirements of modern life, for example, mediating the convergence between home and work environments, or public and private space, without defaulting to current trends as the obvious solution.
Michael is enthusiastic and approachable, always alert to the functional possibilities of ‘left over spaces’, and skilled at creating unexpected moments of joy within a design through simple, cost-effective interventions.
Michael’s background is in housing, education and office design. He has a strong understanding of the regulatory climate of housing development in the UK.
Michael runs the studio’s Design Review Panel, leading critical thinking in design development, and mentoring younger members of the team to engage in dialogue and develop a critical stance.
Michael studied in Atlanta USA and Paris, before coming to London and completing his architectural education at the Architectural Association in 2003. Prior to joining BAA, Michael spent 7 years at Pringle Richards Sharratt.
