Ben founded Ben Adams Architects in 2010, before which he co-founded Nissen Adams in 2003.
Ben has over 20 years experience of working on large scale and complex urban projects. His work demonstrates architectural and commercial consistency, but projects are individually distinctive and the result of bespoke thinking rather than formulaic solutions.
He divides his time between guiding the overall design direction of the practice, generating new business, and R&D, providing a pivotal link between the studio’s design ethos, client requirements, and future possibilities.
Ben’s approach – and the approach he encourages at BAA – combines a rational process of design-driven by brief, costs and contextual analysis, with a strong instinct for the ‘correct’ design response, cumulatively developed on each and every project. He is committed to the development of long-term client relationships and skilled at establishing the trust and understanding that can be vital to project success.
Ben teaches architecture at the Universities of Cambridge and Kingston and is visiting critic at the Architectural Association, Central St Martins and l’Ecole Speciale d’Architecture in Paris.
