In conversation with: RIBA President Ben Derbyshire

We interviewed the incoming RIBA president Ben Derbyshire to understand his thoughts on the future of the architecture profession. He outlines a number of key issues including how architects are perceived, how the profession can better communicate what it does, the value that architects bring to the building process and the benefits that research can bring to the profession as a whole.

His vision of a more approachable profession that openly shares its knowledge base points towards an exciting presidency. Watch this space...

The interview was conducted as part of Ben Adams Architects ‘Pointless City’ project that explores the complex issues surrounding the growth of modern London and the ways in which we, as architects, can meaningfully engage with the continual evolution of this global city.
